Literature Text

I am mammal
My blood will heat the chilly Earth, even when it is spilled.
My breast will nourish the forest canopy, shading my children from the Sun.
My fur will blanket the tundra walls, and never shall paper wings struggle to take flight there.

Beneath the weight of oceans past,
I ride upon the mountain of your back
and hear your voice, so deep as we sing
between the church pews of this life and tomorrow.

Breath, I must breath, but never
will you let me suffocate.
Beneath the weight of sunshine skies,
you lift me up to taste the air.

Search the world in vain with me,
for that ghost I can never find.
But in his absence,
you've become my friend.
No more despair.

You cannot live here,
too many little souls already eating up the fishes.
And so into the winter waves we sail,
upon your back and breathing the music,
we will find enough to nourish two mammals.
Wrote this in about ten minutes before school today--had to keep it short because of the time constraint. It also gave me the chance to write about something beautiful, instead of always writing about war.

Last night I had a dream that I was riding on the back of a humpback whale through the ocean. He couldn't stay in the shallows because all the dolphins had already consumed the food there. He wanted to show me the deep ocean, but I always had to come up to breath. When we finally parted ways, we swam through an underwater church and as I hummed the tune of a song, I heard a whole church choir singing above the waves.

This is the song from the dream, and the song I listened to while writing. [link]

Sublimely beautiful! I love those kinds of dreams.
